Which 2019 Honda Civic Trim Level Should I Buy?
The redesigned 2019 Honda Civic comes in a variety of model trim levels, and some customers may be indecisive about which trim is best for them. Here at Bay Ridge Honda, we can help customers sort out the differences in model trims, but let’s take a minute and review some of the major differences.
The 2019 Civic is offered in three body styles; hatchback, sedan, and coupe. The sedan also has a new Sport trim, so the total number of model trims is five:
2019 Honda Civic Si
The sedan comes with a standard 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine developing 158 horsepower, or an available turbocharged 1.5 liter 4-cylinder developing 174 horsepower. The standard transmission for the LX and Sport is a 6-speed manual with an available continuously variable transmission, or CVT. The other trims come standard with the CVT. If your choice is the turbocharged engine with a manual transmission, you have to upgrade to the Civic Si.
So which trim offers the best combination of features and value? If you don’t want all the premium features of the Touring, the best trim may be the EX, and here’s why:
It is the lowest trim to offer the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine
It has the audio display system which connects through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
It comes standard with the automatic transmission
The useful LaneWatch™ camera is standard
Both a power moonroof and heated front seats are included
Honda’s safety system Honda Sensing® is now included on all trims, so we don’t include it as a specific advantage of the EX. This is a great system which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation, and automatic high-beam headlights.
